Keeping Kids Healthy

wash hands

Dear Parents,

As we head into flu season, it's important to be vigilant about illnesses that can affect our school community. In addition to influenza, we also want to bring awareness to hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD), which is common among young children. Please monitor your child for symptoms of both flu and HFMD. Flu symptoms include fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, and fatigue. HFMD symptoms include fever, sore throat, and a rash with small blisters on the hands, feet, and in the mouth. If your child exhibits any of these symptoms, please refer to How Sick Is Too Sick for guidance.

Our school is taking proactive measures to maintain a clean and healthy environment. We are regularly disinfecting surfaces and promoting good hand hygiene practices. We ask that you reinforce these habits at home by teaching your children proper hand-washing techniques. Additionally, please ensure your child gets adequate rest and nutrition to support their immune system.

Thank you for partnering with us to keep our school community healthy. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the school nurse or administration. Together, we can minimize the impact of these illnesses and ensure a successful school year for all.
